You need to be crazy enough to believe in yourself. You’ve probably seen the agents in The Matrix, how they tirelessly try to destroy the people who have freed their minds. That’s how I view the majority of the people in modern societies. They are profoundly concerned about that their family, friends and neighbors stick to a lifestyle that fits THEIR OWN model of the world, with it’s boundaries, limitations and rules. And you’ll be damned if you try to stick your head up above for a glimpse of the golden journey of an alternative lifestyle.
This has to do with basic tribal structures when we were dependent on each other for survival - if you didn’t provide and contribute to the system of the group you were doomed to be left out alone or most likely killed and eaten.
In todays society we don’t suffer from that survival structure, but we can still see it in our inherited behavior when we ridicule, mock and kill those who are different.
This is why I started out by saying “you need to be crazy enough to believe in yourself”, because often it seems like the crazy ones are those who aren’t afraid of the consequences and are not afraid to think big, even if it would mean to get your ass killed.
How do you think about this?
